As adults, we often aren't encouraged to keep learning - it's something that gets reserved and prioritized for young people. But our Education Department knows that it doesn't have to be either/or and that the best way to live a fulfilling life is to keep learning, create relationships and community, and to explore things you're passionate about.
An in-depth look at the entire audition process, this course gives the student focused skills and experience to feel confident during all aspects of auditioning. Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before- keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. On the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his parents, everything will change for the family.

Stage Play Acting Classes are an opportunity for neurodivergent children ages 5-10 years old to learn about theater. Children participate in acting exercises that work on social skills, use nonverbal information, and understand theater vocabulary. We explore emotions through vocal intonation, body language, and facial expression in improvisational and scripted skits. This is an ongoing collaboration between Minnesota Masonic Children’s Clinic and the Duluth Playhouse. It is our aim to utilize our experience working with autism, ADHD, and children with social learning differences and partner with parents to give children in our class a positive experience with acting and collaborating with others.

More advanced levels and understanding of voice/body training are introduced, including proper warm-up techniques and tools needed for the student to reflect upon their own work. Reading some dramatic literature and script analysis/discussions will be introduced.

Strong focus on monologue work, warm-ups, and delving into some specific acting methodologies. Analysis/research/reading are an expectation as much as sharing performances of work.
