Ticket Policies

Tickets for a Duluth Playhouse event may only be purchased through the official website or through the Playhouse Box Office either in-person or by phone. Membership tickets are nonrefundable.

All sales are final. Please ensure you have received tickets to the event you intend to purchase for the correct performance time, quantity, seat location, and price level before completing your transaction. No refunds will be given on unused or canceled tickets.

Ticket Exchanges must be made 24 hours before the event date, and a $2 re-ticketed fee per ticket will be charged for nonmembers. No exchanges for event dates that have already passed. No exchanges for one-night events.

The purchase of a ticket from a third-party vendor is not authorized. Duluth Playhouse reserves the right to refuse entry to fraudulent or suspect ticket holders.

Age Recommendation

We recommend patrons be ages 8 and up to attend a Main Stage or Underground production. We recommend patrons be ages 5 and up for a Youth Theatre production. Everyone must have a ticket. Children under 3 are not admitted. Call the Box Office if you have any questions.

Third-party tickets

Duluth Playhouse Box Office is the official and most secure way to purchase your tickets. We cannot guarantee that tickets purchased through any other vendor or third-party vendor are valid.

Follow these best practices when purchasing tickets online:

  • Purchase tickets only from duluthplayhouse.org
  • Type DuluthPlayhouse.org directly into your browser
  • Do not click on any search listing labeled as ads
  • If tickets are unavailable, contact our Box Office instead of searching third-party sites

Production Changes and Cancellations

Production dates, times, and titles are subject to change or cancellation.

Content and Age Appropriateness

The Playhouse does not provide opinion or judgment regarding subject matter, as the contents of each production will impact individuals differently based on their lived experiences. If you have questions about content or stage effects such as strobe lighting or haze, please contact our team at BoxOffice@DuluthPlayhouse.org or 218-733-7555.

Photo and Video Disclaimer

During your visit, you may be filmed or photographed. Your attendance at Playhouse events serves as permission for the use of your image by the Playhouse for publicity. Please contact the House Manager on duty should you have any questions or concerns about this policy.

Community Previews

Duluth Playhouse believes that theatre is for everyone. Community Preview Nights build relationships with diverse community groups across the Northland. We are bringing our community together on and off the stage by investing in local groups and offering the clients they serve greater access to our productions.

Community Preview Nights allow community-serving organizations and groups to experience a Duluth Playhouse show and remove financial barriers for their staff or clients who otherwise might not be able to attend. We offer a rotation of guests to our free Community Preview Night Performance, which is always the Wednesday before Opening Night.

Please complete our Community Preview Night Request form to get on the rotating guest list.

Student RUSH Tickets

Full-time students with a valid student ID can get a $25 ticket to any Playhouse produced Main Stage production at the NorShor and a $22 ticket to Underground productions. Student Rush tickets go on sale at the Box Office 30 minutes prior to performances and can be accessed by showing a valid student ID when purchasing your tickets in person. Tickets are sold to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ticket Donation Requests

Donation policy

Thanks for your interest in Duluth Playhouse. We are proud to offer transformative theatre experiences for everyone, regardless of their financial situation. To make this possible, we have a range of discount ticket programs available each season and offer free or low-cost tickets through our TAP ticket program and Community Previews.

As much as we would love to grant all donation requests, our ability to donate performance tickets is limited. Currently, we only accept requests from fellow 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Please note that we do not issue monetary donations.

If your organization meets the above criteria and would like to request a donation, please fill out our ticket donation request form. We're always happy to support fellow non-profit organizations in our community.
