Stage Manager - The Shark is Broken

Duluth Playhouse is hiring a Stage Manager for our Underground production of The Shark is Broken.

Production Info:
  • Production: The Shark is Broken
  • Venue: The Lab at the NorShor Theatre (211 E Superior St, Duluth, MN)
  • Rehearsals: September 15 - October 15
  • Performances: October 16 - November 2
Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing the rehearsal space.
  2. Keeping director and rehearsal timeline to schedule.
  3. Submit weekly rehearsal schedules to the Production and Artistic Teams.
  4. Submit daily rehearsal reports to the Production Team.
  5. Prioritize safety and immediately report any injuries.
  6. Send an email reminder 24 hours prior to each production meeting including the meeting date, time, location, & agenda.
  7. Attend and take notes for all production meetings.
  8. Manage all rehearsal props and furniture and ensure their safety and functionality.
  9. Document all blocking.
  10. Stage Managers must keep Playhouse staff informed with any show questions, concerns, or behavior issues.
  11. In addition to the above outlined duties, the SM is responsible for reading and following the Stage Management Handbook.

  • Production Meetings as Scheduled
  • Rehearsals
  • Tech/Dress rehearsals
  • Previews & Performances
