Fall 2026 Class Instructors and Assistants

We are looking for instructors for classes that focus on a range of theatrical topics - acting, singing, dancing, writing, improv, scene study, audition techniques, etc. - for a range of ages: 5 to adult!

Each class will consist of 4-6 weekly sessions, beginning October 24th and ending December 1st. PLEASE NOTE: This 2026 fall session of classes is more condensed than usual; the rest of our seasonal educational programming typically runs 8-10 weeks in length.

Classes are typically after school on weekdays or during the day on Saturdays. Each class session is either an hour or 90 minutes in length, depending on the age of the students.

Reimbursement: $40/hr

[EX: $200 for 5 weeks of one-hour sessions; or $300 for 5 weeks of 90-minute sessions]

Responsibilities:

• Develop curriculum and lesson plans that are age appropriate and focused on specific theatre topics
• Adapt curriculum and lesson plans to meet the needs and skill level of students
• Encourage cooperation, teamwork, and participation in students
• Monitor student behavior and well-being and provide appropriate classroom and behavior management during class time
• Work cooperatively with other staff members
• Report any illness and/or injury of students immediately to the Director of Education
• Seek advice and/or assistance from the Director of Education or other Playhouse staff when needed
• Notify the Director of Education ASAP if you will be absent or late

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in both theatre and working with children is preferred
• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work and problem solve in a team setting
• Punctuality, flexibility, and dependability 
• Willing to submit to a background check (required)

Assistant Instructors Also Needed:

We are also looking for assistant instructors to aid our lead instructors in classroom management and teaching. Must be at least 15 years of age. Interest in working with children is required; previous experience is preferred. Reimbursement: $15/hr.
