PERFORMING ARTISTS
The mission of The Underground is to serve as a community meeting place for culture and conversation, for arts and education, offering diverse programming to foster the artistic and intellectual life of Northern Minnesota/Wisconsin.
The Underground will be producing programming in the areas of culture, conversation, arts, and education.
Performing Artists are welcome to submit projects to The Underground. Projects that have a strong connection to our mission will take priority. Click on the Applications tab to apply to produce a show at The Underground.
THEATER/DANCE
The Underground will produce six theater shows a season. If you’d like to present a play to The Underground for consideration to our 2014 season, please fill out the theatrical application and return it by August 1, 2013.
The Underground is available to rent for Dance productions, pending availability.
MUSIC
The Underground will host early concerts, 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 pm. The Acoustics of The Underground are best for folk/light rock concerts.
The Underground will be producing the following Music Series: If you are interested in performing for one of these series, please fill out the Music Application, and submit it to Producing Director, Crystal Pelkey.
Song, Interrupted (Inspired by VH1’s Storytellers)—Musicians tell the audience the stories behind their songs, they can stop, talk and interact at any point during the music presentation. Audience may ask the artist questions.
Experimental Nights- Musicians are invited to perform on instruments that you wouldn’t expect from them, perform other artists’ songs, or experiment with various mediums.
Female Singer/Songwriter Showcase-Female musicians will have a chance to showcase their work with other area/regional female talent
Musical Cabarets: Musicians, Actors, Songwriters are invited to come together and perform music-inspired cabarets
CD Release Concerts: Artists are invited to host CD/Vinyl release shows at The Underground
