Volunteer Incentive Program
The
Volunteer Appreciation and Incentive Program: A special thanks from the
Duluth Playhouse Board of Directors recognizing all the valuable support
and service you provide to the community.
The volunteer appreciation and incentive program is for anyone who donates
time and services to the Playhouse (and doesn’t get a pay check!)
Have you ever dreamed of flying to New York City to attend a hit Broadway
Show?
This is your chance to win a 3-night Trip for Two to New
York City – which includes two fabulous show tickets! It’s
all part of The Duluth Playhouse’s new Volunteer Appreciation and
Incentive Program. Whether you’re on stage channeling your Inner-Rockette
or behind the scenes building a set, working as a stage hand, ushering,
hanging posters or serving as a bulk mail team member – your volunteer
hours can translate into Big Prizes.
The incentive program is now underway and runs through May 11, 2008. Your
first 250 volunteer hours will entitle you to an entry into our drawing,
and every additional 50 hours will earn you another chance to win. Second
Prize is a 15” LCD Television and Third Prize is a Digital Camera.
There is a place for you at the Playhouse, and your participation is key
to the success of the finest showcase for emerging and experienced artists
in this region!
Time Frame: Chapter Two through Stuart Little (Final
day to submit hours will be May 11, 2008)
The following year will pick up on May 12 and will include production
help with Philadelphia Story and My Fair Lady.
Who is eligible? Anyone who volunteers in ANY capacity!
Actors, Backstage Crew, Board Operators, Assistant Stage Managers, Ushers,
Office Support, Costume Support, Class and Summer Camp Assistants, and
more.
- Age requirement for the Volunteer Appreciation and Incentive Program
is 16.
- Volunteer hours at The Play Ground theatre are not eligible for the Incentive Program
There are too many opportunities to list. So get on our email list and
watch for weekly email blasts to inform you of the many slots where we
are looking for help.
Everyone will be given time sheets to track their own hours. The time
sheets should be turned in to the following department heads:
Christine Seitz (actors)
Jeff Brown (production crew positions and shop support)
Kirian Langseth-Schmidt (costume support)
Mary Van Wye (office and ushers)
ACTORS
A Special Note: If you are called to come to an audition by Christine
and you get the part, you will not be able to bank the hours spent on
that particular show.
An actor may average anywhere from 100-200+ hours per show, depending
on how long the shows run. If you were in 2 shows, you could reach 250,
and also get your name in the hat for each additional 50 hours…so
that could be 3-4 more chances to win!
OR consider crew calls and other opportunities to meet the goal!
Christine will ask that you track your own hours; she will have a copy
of the rehearsal schedule as well. All hours must be turned in immediately
following the final performance.
ASM’S, BACKSTAGE CREW, BOARD OPERATORS
On an average, you could bank 40-100 hours per show!
Track your hours by show as well. Submit time sheet to Jeff at the close
of the run.
SHOP, COSTUME and OFFICE VOLUNTEERS
The fact is, we need help every day. You could earn 20-40 hours a week
if you wanted too!
Each day you volunteer, you will submit your time sheet and have the supervisor
sign it that day. Jeff, Kirian, and Mary will also independently track
volunteers.
CLASS AND CAMP ASSISTANTS
For one week of camps you could earn close to 40 hours! Sign up with Kelly
and have fun working with kids!
Any Questions? Looking for opportunities? Call or email
the department heads and get in on the race to accumulate your 250 hours!!
